Sometimes there will need to be a smaller stone added to act as a stabilizer, shim or wedge. The shapes of the stones can be whatever you choose, but the flat stones are much easier to work with. As you become more used to building cairns, round stones and interestingly shaped stones give more challenge.

As you go about doing this challenge of building and collecting and searching, you will have keen eyesight and focus to find the stone that you are looking for to complete the next layer. Once you find it, you will place it, adjust it and then once all of that has been done, you will receive a confirmation that it was the right stone.

There will be stones that just won’t work for your cairn or, you just don’t have the skill yet to make it work for your cairn. You need to try a different stone or a different positioning of that stone. Don’t give up.

In the last few months, I have been building a cairn with my Heavenly Parents. Not a literal, physical cairn, but a figurative one. I have been searching for knowledge, and They have guided me in my search for the answers. I collect the information, I study it, I ponder on it with a question in my heart. Sometimes I have to ask Them in prayer. And then, the confirmation comes.

It comes in so many ways. Through conversations with friends, this blog, the scriptures, songs, art, dreams, my kids, etc. My favorite right now is the goosebumps. It has been made very clear to me recently that there are goosebumps and there are GOOSEBUMPS. The later goosebumps are very clearly from Them. It is so fun.

It has been the most amazing experience. I was struggling with something last night that I’ve been prompted to do and feeling overwhelmed by it. I had no idea where to begin. I had some ideas of how to do it, but I had so many questions. I had nothing coming to me as far as answers.

In talking with a friend, the answers began to form in my mind. As she spoke with me, the images and ideas They wanted me to know and work with came to me. I love receiving confirmations from Heaven. It is the most amazing experience.

Today, I was at a doctor appointment with my daughter. I came into the lobby and immediately noticed a woman. From where I could see, it looked as if she was reading the Bible. In the waiting room of a doctor’s office! You just don’t see that anymore.

My mind kept going to this woman as I was checking in and then sitting with my daughter. I knew my Heavenly Parents wanted me to go meet this woman. I had the thought of how weird that is and what if she doesn’t want me to interrupt her. But then I immediately had the thought, that I knew it was from Them, and I needed to follow through on that inspiration. It was important.

I went over to ask her what she was reading. The encounter that I prepared myself to be awkward was the most delightful visit. This woman had marked her scriptures with notes and sticky tabs. She had a whole system, and this happened to be the third Bible that she had gone through marking with notes. Not only three separate Bibles, but three different translations of them.

I was so inspired by this woman! I’m so glad that I followed through on my inspiration to meet her. I hope that I meet her again. I’m pretty sure I can learn much from her.

Very shortly after sitting with her, we were called back for our appointment. As I walked back with my daughter and the nurse, my body was covered in goosebumps. I knew that my Heavenly Parents were pleased with me for listening to Them. It is always my choice to listen, and they love it when I choose to hear Them.

Whenever I know that I listened to inspiration, I usually always receive a confirmation in some way that I listened and acted on Their will or that someone was sent to me from Them to give me their love.

Have you ever experienced this? Sometimes it feels simple, like a coincidence. But it is not! That is what Satan wants you to think. Do not fall for his lies! I almost did today when my first thought was how awkward and possible unwelcome my attention would be for this woman.

God told me that my thought to meet her was from Them. It was important for me to act. I had promised Them that I would act on inspiration to meet and speak with strangers when I get it. They reminded me of that promise.

You are now ready to build a figurative cairn with Them. They will guide you. It will take time. Be patient. They will meet you where you are at.

There will be times that it seems like you are looking for the perfect stone and it has been a really long time. Don’t give up. They are waiting for you to find it before you can be led to the next stone.

There are times that you will need to find a stabilizing stone for your cairn. You might need many of them. It is ok. Use them. It is not about the beauty of the finished cairn. It is the process that matters. The process is what is beautiful.
