Connecting

I was looking for an image for a completely unrelated topic and I came across this image. I knew that this was the message that I needed to write about instead.

Recently my brother was having a difficult time with his cell phone connectivity. He and I would be talking and either he couldn’t hear me, or I couldn’t hear him. We continued to try to work through the poor connection and eventually we were able to hear each other.

Have you ever had a phone connection that was very difficult to understand what the other person was saying due to static or service issues? It is very frustrating. Especially this day in age when it doesn’t happen as frequently as it did when I was younger.

I have been thinking about prayer as a way of connecting with God. Are we making that connection a priority in our lives? Are we spending hours looking for the best technological gadgets to help us have the same connection to God that we want to have on our phone or streamless television services?

I am striving to make that connection matter. To make it very clear and uninterrupted between me and my Heavenly Parents. Some days there seems to be a lot of static. Some days, the connection is so clear, I forget about the days that I struggle.

I have come to realize that my connection depends on my desire and commitment to make it strong. To make it as clear as possible. I will not give up. Those moments when it is so perfectly clear to hear Them make all of the effort worth it. Every time.

For those of you who feel incredibly lonely right now, They are there. You have to initiate the connection with Them. They will never force you. It all depends on your choice. If you so choose it, They will be there. They will connect with you. Try it. Pray to Them about all of your struggles. Just pour out your heart. They will send you love in ways you cannot imagine. Pay attention. See it for what it is. They love you. They see you.

Start with Them. Learn about Them and about Their son, Jesus Christ. Then, when you are ready, start connecting with others. They will show you how.
