When I explain to her the steps that will help her to be ready for that item. She does not like how many things she needs to accomplish before she can get to that privilege that she desires. It sounds like way too much work. Aging into a privilege is so much easier than working to be ready for it.
I’ve been pondering on this the last few days. God gives us more when we are ready to know and understand it. He waits patiently for us to become ready. Sometimes He will give us a nudge. Other times He waits for us to ask for more knowledge and understanding.
Isaiah 28:10 (KJV) For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little.
As we begin our spiritual journey of our own accord, we will get an increase of knowledge and experience from God. We will have time to take that new information, to ponder and digest it. We might have moments where our faith is tried to see if we are indeed ready for more information from God.
It is all done at our pace. There are many mysteries that we don’t know. They will only be given to us when we are ready to have more given. I personally don’t want to wait until death to learn more, but it is absolutely an option. It is very important to God that we choose.
I learned that the hard way that is not how I want to live my life. I want to have a purpose. I want to further His work on this earth. I want to teach those around me that we get to choose our path in learning of Him. And of Her, our Heavenly Mother.
I do this daily as I live my life and care for my children and family. I make plans for them to enjoy their life and I take care of my home and chores and my body and in the quiet moments of the day, I am feeding my spiritual cup with good music, podcasts, General Conference talks, or reading the scriptures.
I still do fun things, but I am feeding myself and my testimony daily. I am no longer just waiting for church once a week to do so. There is always something to improve. There is always something to learn. I try to look for God in every part of my day.
My struggle right now is that even though I am doing all of these things, the busyness of the house is distracting me from praying as much as I was previously. I am trying to figure out how to fit it in to continue talking with my Heavenly Parents as much as I was before the busy of summer began.
I know that they understand. But I don’t want to lose the closeness that I feel with them just because life is starting to get busy again.
I have come to realize that I need to have peace in the home when I am blogging, or the words don’t come as freely as they usually do. That has been tricky with our summer schedule. There have been days when I haven’t woken up before the kids to blog. I have to let everyone know that I am going to blog, and I need peace in the home to do it properly.
It has been amazing to see their reverent response and effort to not bicker with each other while I am writing. I love their commitment to the Lord to make sure that I can have a strong connection with Him while I write.
How can you look at your day differently and see where you can add in some scripture or a podcast to bring you closer to God daily? I promise as you do this, the days don’t seem as monotonous, you will become happier and more excited about life, and your testimony will grow.
I am excited for you to become ready for more knowledge from our Heavenly Parents. Remember that there will be little tests of faith along the way. Just like when we go to school, we learn new information and then we are tested on how much we understood that knowledge. It is very similar.
You’ve got this. Keep your faith and it will be increased.
